Source ID / Source Name / Source Type — mill or distributor identity; Source ID joins from inventory lots and supplier quotes.
Approved Spec Families — specification families this source is approved to supply (e.g., AMS-QQ-A-250 covers its sub-specs; AMS 6415, AMS 5862, etc.). A source is not approved for families not listed.
Melt Country — country where the material is melted.
Origin Qualifying Status — whether the melt origin is a DFARS qualifying source. 'Qualifying (USA)' = United States; 'Qualifying (non-US)' = qualifying country other than the US; 'Non-qualifying' = neither.
Approval Status — Approved, Conditional, Suspended, or Not Approved. Conditional, Suspended, and Not Approved sources are not eligible for new commitments.
Approval Expiry — date the current approval lapses ('-' where not applicable).
Usage
Use this list to confirm that a candidate inventory lot or supplier quote comes from a source approved for the required specification, and to read its melt country for program country-of-origin and DFARS specialty-metals rules. This file states approval and origin facts only; it does not state whether any specific lot or quote may be used for a given requirement.

Material Demand Forecast — Door/Hinge Mechanism Assemblies
---
Source system: MRP run MRP-2026-0619-R2. Planner: D. Achebe, Materials Planning. Review cycle: 2026-Q3 build wave.
Field definitions
Requirement ID — unique MRP line identifier; joins to the analysis workbook and to supplier RFQ lines.
Program ID / Program Name — owning build program; joins to the Program Priority & Build Schedule.
Alloy / Material Spec / Temper or Condition / Product Form — the engineering material callout. All four must be satisfied for a lot or quote to apply.
Net Required Usable Qty (lb) — the quantity of conforming, usable material the program needs, expressed in pounds of raw stock after expected machining/yield loss is accounted for. This is the figure that on-hand and quoted material must cover.
Need-By Date — date raw material must be on hand to protect the program build start (which is later; see Program schedule). Receiving inspection and in-house processing consume the interval between.
MRP Firmed — Y = firm planned order; Tentative = planning estimate that may shift.
How to assess inventory coverage
Usable on-hand quantity for a lot = (On Hand Qty − Allocated Qty) × Yield Factor, using the figures in the Inventory Lot & Certification Snapshot. A requirement is met from inventory when the usable quantity from lots that satisfy the callout, certification, traceability, source-approval, hold, and country-of-origin rules is at least the Net Required Usable Qty above.
Quantities are pounds of raw stock. They do not encode any usability, compliance, or sourcing decision; those are determined by reading this file together with the inventory, source list, quote matrix, substitution policy, and program schedule.
Program Priority & Build Schedule
2026 Q3 Door/Hinge Mechanism Build Wave — Production Control Release PC-2026-0618
Issued by: Production Control & Program Management Office (PMO). Distribution: Sourcing, Materials Planning, Quality, MRB. Status as of 2026-06-19.
1. Purpose
This release fixes program priority ranking and committed build dates for the current review cycle. Where multiple programs compete for the same eligible material, allocation shall favor the higher-priority program (lower priority rank number). Contractual country-of-origin and specialty-metals restrictions stated in Section 3 are flowed from the customer contracts and are binding on sourcing decisions; they are not discretionary and may not be relaxed for cost or schedule convenience.

3. Contractual Sourcing Restrictions
Code
Applies To
Restriction Detail
DFARS
PRG-RAVEN, PRG-SABLE (Lockmar Defense)
Specialty-metals clause DFARS 252.225-7008/7009 flows to these contracts. Steel and specialty alloys must be melted and manufactured in the United States or a qualifying country. Material of non-qualifying origin (including but not limited to People's Republic of China and Russian Federation melt) is not acceptable for these programs regardless of certificate quality.
CUST-EU
PRG-MERIDIAN, PRG-TUNDRA (Aerolux / Northwind)
Customer master agreement prohibits raw material melted in the People's Republic of China or the Russian Federation. Material melted in the United States or in European/allied qualifying countries (e.g., France, South Korea) is acceptable. This restriction is independent of, and stricter than, any commercial preference.
None
PRG-HALCYON, PRG-CALDER
No special country-of-origin restriction beyond standard approved-source requirements. Standard AMSL approval and certification rules still apply.
4. Allocation and Contention Guidance
Where a single eligible inventory lot can serve more than one program's requirement and its usable quantity is insufficient for both, the higher-priority program shall be allocated first. Lower-priority requirements left short by such allocation shall be covered by new purchase if a compliant, feasible quote exists, or escalated otherwise. Allocation decisions shall respect the certification, traceability, source-approval, and country-of-origin constraints in the engineering material substitution policy; a lower price or shorter lead time does not override those constraints.
Schedule risk callouts for this cycle: the two Lockmar (DFARS) programs have the earliest need-by dates and the tightest origin constraints, so any reliance on non-qualifying-origin stock or on quotes promising receipt on or after need-by must be raised to the PMO. Calder, as the lowest-priority program with the latest build start, is the preferred bill-payer for any reallocation of contested material, subject to its own need-by dates.

README
Supplier Quote & Lead-Time Matrix
---
Compiled from RFQ responses received 2026-06-12 through 2026-06-19. Buyer: R. Castellanos, Procurement.
Field definitions
Quote ID / RFQ ID — quote line and the RFQ it answers. Multiple quotes may answer one RFQ.
Source ID — quoting mill or distributor; joins to the Approved Material Source List.
Alloy / Material Spec / Temper or Condition / Product Form — material offered on the quote line.
Quoted Qty (lb) / Unit Price ($/lb) / Extended Cost ($) — offered pounds, price per pound, and their product (Extended Cost = Quoted Qty × Unit Price).
Lead Time (days) — calendar days from PO release to dock.
Quoted Receipt Date — supplier-promised dock date. Compare against the requirement Need-By Date for schedule feasibility.
Cert Offered — certificate the supplier will provide (3.1 / 3.2 / C of C).
Melt Country — melt origin for country-of-origin and DFARS rules.
Min Order (lb) / Quote Expiry — minimum order quantity for the line and the date the quote lapses.
Usage
A quote answers a requirement only when its material matches the callout (or an allowance in the engineering substitution policy), its source is approved and its origin satisfies the program rule, its certificate meets the certification requirement, and its Quoted Receipt Date precedes the Need-By Date with margin for inspection and processing. This file reports quoted facts only; it does not state which quotes should be acted on.

You are supporting a material sourcing review for an aerospace components manufacturer that builds certified door and hinge mechanism assemblies. Upcoming production lots require aluminum and steel raw materials, including plate, bar, extrusion, and machined-stock inputs. Several material requirements are at risk because available inventory, supplier quotes, lead times, certification status, source approvals, allocations, yield loss, and program priorities do not all align. Production and sourcing leadership need a sourcing plan that identifies which material lots can be used, which supplier quotes should be acted on, which requirements remain at risk, and which program commitments should be prioritized. The objective is not simply to buy the cheapest or fastest available material; the recommendation must distinguish physically available material from material that is actually usable for certified aerospace production. Using the attached material sourcing packet, determine the recommended sourcing and allocation plan for the current review cycle. Identify which aluminum and steel requirements can be covered from compliant on-hand inventory, which require new purchases, which supplier quotes are feasible, and which shortages or compliance issues require escalation. Evaluate the tradeoffs among material specification, temper or condition, product form, mill certification, traceability, approved-source status, country-of-origin or customer restrictions, available quantity after allocation, usable yield, lead time, cost, and program delivery impact. Work only from the attached materials: the material demand forecast, inventory lot and certification snapshot, approved material source list, supplier quote and lead-time matrix, engineering material substitution policy, and program priority / build schedule. Do not invent alternate alloys, tempers, substitutions, engineering approvals, customer waivers, supplier capacity, expedite options, certification corrections, yield assumptions, or allocation changes that are not documented in the source files. Where commercial pressure, supplier promises, or apparent physical availability conflict with material specification, certification, traceability, approved-source, or substitution-policy constraints, treat the documented compliance constraints as authoritative. Do not treat material as usable merely because it is physically on hand or quoted as available. A material lot or quote should be considered usable only if the source materials support that it meets the required alloy/specification, temper or condition, product form, certification and traceability requirements, approved-source rules, and available quantity after existing allocations and yield loss. If a substitution is not explicitly permitted by the attached engineering material substitution policy or documented approval records, do not assume it is allowed. Produce the following deliverables in `/workspace/output/`: - `material_sourcing_recommendation_memo.docx` — a structured recommendation memo for sourcing, production, and quality leadership explaining the recommended material sourcing plan, key constraints, program risks, cost and lead-time tradeoffs, and required escalations. - `material_sourcing_analysis_workbook.xlsx` — a supporting workbook documenting requirement-level material coverage, inventory-lot usability, supplier quote feasibility, allocation decisions, yield-adjusted quantity analysis, at-risk requirements, alternatives considered, and recommended sourcing actions.version = "1.0"
