Monthly snapshot ledger continuity auditReconciliation & Settlement
Task prompt
Treasury found a few monthly opening balances that may not have carried forward from the prior close. Please investigate this as a rollover-control issue. Start with the Confluence page 'Account Balance Mechanics & Captures', then use the warehouse to audit the month-end handoff across every account. Scope the control to a month's close feeding the following month's normal first-day opening. A first, partial-month snapshot is not itself a rollover event, but its ending balance can still be the closing side of the next normal handoff. Report the total number of eligible rollover handoffs you audited. If any of the prior ending or next starting available/current values is missing, count that handoff as incomplete and keep it out of the confirmed-break population; missing data is not a mismatch by itself. Count confirmed breaks at the account-month handoff grain rather than by individual balance field. Classify a confirmed break as reset-to-zero when both new starting balances are zero, and as a nonzero divergence otherwise. Include the monthly clusters, with August 2023 called out. Create a Slack channel named "monthly-snapshot-continuity-audit", post and pin the summary, and file a Bank Operations ticket titled "Monthly snapshot continuity audit" with the audit population, incomplete handoffs, break classification, and month clusters. Reply with eligible_rollover_pair_count, incomplete_rollover_pair_count, continuity_break_count, reset_to_zero_count, nonzero_divergence_count, and cluster_2023_08_count.
